Public Liability Insurance
Under the Public Liability Act, 1991, persons affected due to accidents caused by the handling of hazardous substances are to be given immediate relief on ‘no-fault liability’ basis by the entity that owns, controls or handles such hazardous goods. The act stipulates that Public Liability Insurance cover is mandatory. The Reliance Public Liability (Act) Insurance assists you to give aid as mentioned in the provisions of the act. The Public Liability Act policy is mandatory for owners, users or transporters of a hazardous substance as defined under Environment (Protection) Act 1986 in excess of the minimum quantity specified under the Public Liability Insurance Act 1991. Public Liability Insurance offers cover for third party liabilities (bodily injury/property damage) arising out of the premises and operations of the Insured and legal costs incurred in connection therewith.

This Insurance Policy does not cover liability arising out of willful or intentional non-compliance of any statutory provisions, with respect to fines and penalties.
